Obituary of Larry J Plines
Larry Jake Plines passed away in his home on July 30, 2022 at the age of 68.
Larry was born in Lodi, California to parents Irene and Jake Plines.
He was a graduate of St. Peter Lutheran School and Lodi High School.
Larry had various jobs throughout his life. After high school graduation, and a few semesters at Delta JC, he worked for a Stockton galvanizing company, Cal Cedar Lumber, Kearney Electric KPF Co, and Dopaco, Inc.
Larry enjoyed a friendly conversation with anyone who crossed his path; a friend to all. He would share and reminisce about his life adventures. He was talented at articulating and embellishing a story to capture your attention. He loved working on machines and was nicknamed “Mr. Fixit” by his
grandchildren and family. He appreciated grasping the knowledge of how machines worked. In fact,
understanding how things worked seemed to come to him with no effort. If he took it apart he could put it back together. He always enjoyed tinkering in his garage and getting grimy working on a car or motorcycle. He had a knack of finding a use for items that others might toss. If he had something you needed, he would graciously give it to you.
He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting.
Riding motorcycles was a passion of his. In some final notes, he had written, “when you hear lightning –that’s me trying to restart what’s left of my Harley.”
Larry is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Lauren Plines, son Jon (Chrissy) Plines. Grandchildren, Seneca Smith, Dean Plines, Michael Plines, Judy Plines, Johnathan Rosales, Becca Rosales and Bella Rosales. He also leaves behind a sister, Diana (Arthur) Will.
Information regarding donations to a scholarship in his name are forthcoming.
In Loving Memory
