An old acquaintance recently told me about Randy’s passing. I was deeply saddened even after 31 years.
I met Randy in 1990 in San Francisco, and it was love at first sight. We were both in our late 20’s.
We had an amazing time for a year before we both left SF for other jobs.
The glue with us was laughter - it was never-ending.
And music. Randy introduced me to a band called Rock and Rockets. He had given me a cassette tape of one of their albums.
One time we were coming back from a bar at 1am and “So Alive” played. He had me pull over in this deserted warehouse district and we opened all the car windows and danced our asses off to the song in a parking lot.
I’ve always cherished memories of Randy - we were young and happy and care-free.
Randy had a beloved dog named Zephyr- I think a Labrador mix. He was devoted to Zephyr and was an amazing dog dad.
I hope Randy had happiness in his life. I know that’s what he brought me all those years ago.

Randy, I will miss seeing you and your furry friends. Besides seeing you at LVH I loved seeing you walking around Lodi with some of my favorite GSD’s. We’ve always shared a love for them. You’re the reason I have Birdie and I’m beyond grateful to you for her.
I’m so sad and heartbroken that I never knew that you were in pain. You’ve always been so kind, and helpful. I loved chatting with you. An unfortunate reminder that you never know what someone is going through. May you rest in paradise pain free with your loved ones both furry and human!!

Randy - I love this photo of you at my wedding. I want so much for this not to be true. My heart hurts so much from losing you. I miss texting you, exchanging dog stories and just knowing you were there if I needed you. I have you at home. I know you enjoy watching Whiskey and Seven play and even like the kitties running around you. You will be with me forever! I have to remind myself to be grateful you are at peace and no longer in pain. I wish I could have taken your pain away so you could enjoy life. I love you. Please watch over us and say hello to mom, dad, Klondike and Hollywood. Hope you have found Cassie, Dorothy and one-ear up Murphy. Maybe in heaven Murphy has two ears up. Lol. Be free and happy big brother.
