Obituary of Roy M O'connor

Roy M. O’Connor, 60, born June 8, 1962, San Francisco, Ca. climbed his stairway to heaven when he passed quietly in his sleep, January 29, 2022, in Lodi, Ca. Roy’s beloved mother; M. Phylis O’Connor, and father preceded him in death. 

Lodi, Ca. was Roy’s stomping grounds. The music community; his social circle, and one couldn’t think of Roy without thinking of his iconic “band room”.  Laughter, music-filled nights, hazy mornings, and an “always-open” sign above the door made Roy, and his dwelling, one of the most memorable, for those who knew him, for decades. 

Music was life for Roy O’Connor. He was born with it in his blood. His drums; his heartbeat, a celebrated drummer for local bands over many years. 

From his pants to his headbands, to his drum kits, Roy lived life loud and proud. 

Roy leaves a legacy of friendship. Good people have joined in an effort to celebrate Roy O’Connor’s life. Donations were made in his name to provide a dignified end.  His friends and the music community have come together to give Roy the musical send-off he deserves.
