Obituary of Manuel Perris
Manuel Perris, 83, of Lodi, CA passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born on February 20, 1938, in the town of Mytilini on the island of Samos, Greece. He was the first-born of two brothers and spent his early years cultivating his hard-working ethic and equally his love of music and dance. In 1965, he was introduced to the woman he would fall in love with and marry, Katina. Eventually they immigrated to the U.S. in 1967. Manuel and Katina became parents to their only child, Chris, in 1968. They raised their family in Lodi – a town that Manuel loved dearly. Manuel spent his first years working in the U.S. as a trades-person and entered into the commercial painting business where he remained a loyal employee for 23 years. Eventually he retired in 2003 to become a full-time loving grandfather.
Manuel was a gifted dancer and lover of conversation. In Greece, people came from other villages to watch him dance. He was a lively and entertaining story-teller of village life and stories about life's funny moments. Over the years he refined his gardening skills generously giving prized fruit and vegetables to friends and family. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting the local coffee shop and attending church social events to visit with others.
He is survived by his wife, Katina; son, Chris; daughter-in-law, Heidi; and grandchildren, Kristiana and JonMichael.
