Obituary of Christa Carolyn Myers

Christa Carolyn (Ebeling) Myers passed away on December 15, 2021. Christa will be remembered most for her deep love of her husband, Gary, and her three daughters. She will be remembered by those who know her well for her love of animals, passionate views, and desire to take care of others. She is survived by her daughters, Tracey Bidwell, Lynn Wall and Christine Vietz; and her three siblings, Mary (her twin), Louette (Lou) and John.

Christa was born on September 16, 1943. In her early years, she loved exploring the world and going on adventures with her twin, Mary. She shared this same sense of adventure with her daughters, always loving to travel to new places, try new foods, go white water rafting, hiking, camping, and any other fun activity not involving heights, tall bridges or snakes. As a mother, she raised her daughters to be strong and self-sufficient, ensuring that all three could face life’s challenges.

Christa attended Mercy College of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. She worked as a nurse throughout her adult life, taking pride in providing every patient with the best possible care. Christa continued to identify as a nurse and caretaker through the very end of her life trying to care for and worrying about “what to do about those poor widows…” and other residents of the care facility where she lived.

Throughout her life, Christa was a true animal lover, especially of horses and dogs, but also loved seeing wildlife from the tiniest hummingbird to bears and moose. She loved living in Montana maintaining a wonder for nature and was passionate about environmental and other issues. She and her husband Gary celebrated holidays enthusiastically with Christmas being their favorite time of year. By far, her greatest joy was being a mother and was delighted to have six grandchildren, Logan, Anna, Nathaniel, Christian, Jack, and Mark. Christa was a blessing to many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
