Jeff and I were tight. We were both 2531 Radio operators during the Gulf war when Alpha co. Just return to HI. There were some issues with Comm that made our MOS crucial for the next decade. We took the indoc and had no idea what we were getting into. He was so fun to be around. He always made me laugh even in the most stressful situations. RIP my Brother never above you, never below you, always beside you.

My sincerest condolences to all of Jeff's family, relatives, and close friends. I was shocked emotionally to learn about Jeff's passing. The following is my tribute and respects for Jeff.
Jeff, my brother, thank you so much for helping me get settled at University of The Pacific. Whenever I needed advice, you were there to always guide me so I could see the trees beyond the horizon. We will see other again in the next lifetime, but in that time, we will be graduates from the U.S. Air Force Academy and be pilots and even be Astronauts on a Star Trek. Expect good "Karma," because everything in our Universe is cyclical. Our stars never died because they were transformed into our being. And, nothIng ever dies because of rebirth in the next lifetime. Until then, my brother, will be seeing each other. Rest in peace for now, my brother.
May God guide you and keep you in his care,

My deepest condolences to Jeff’s loving family and his friends. I had the honor to fight alongside Jeff in the war in Afghanistan. One particular memory was when we were ambushed and under attack. I was the PA and got word we had casualties I wasn’t able to get message to commander because of all the radio traffic. While outside my vehicle I looked up a Jeff while he manned his 50 cal. He motioned to me to go ahead. Without a word I knew he had my back as he laid continuous 50 Cal fire to cover me. He helped me save three Afghans that day. Jeff was a freedom fighter and a brother. He had an infectious laugh and will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

I had the opportunity of working with Jeff both as a student and a fellow colleague at the University of the Pacific. He truly cared about his fellow vets and incoming transfer students. He was always direct, honest, and to the point ... characteristics that made him a great leader amongst his peers and colleagues.
