Obituary of Lowell Adam Nagel

Please share a memory of Lowell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lowell Nagel, 82, of Lodi, CA, entered eternity September 10, 2021, with his faithful wife Bobbie by his side. Lowell was born on January 3, 1939, to Harold & Dorothy Nagel in Lehr, North Dakota. Lowell was one of those rare people who had two birthdays. For the first 55 years of his life, he celebrated his birthday on the 5th of January which he shared with his father. At age 56, he began celebrating his actual birthday January 3rd, which was his favorite. Although the 5th served him well for fifty-six years. Lowell's lifelong love for Lodi began when his family moved to Lodi in 1941. He had many jobs starting with a paper route, moving on to working in a bakery, meat packing plant and for General Mills before starting his own business Big Valley Landscape which he owned and operated for many years. Lowell honorably served as a Specialist in the US Army Reserves. He loved his wife, Bobbie; they were faithfully married for almost twenty years. They traveled the road, rails, and high seas together, visiting forty-nine states (he never saw the need to go to Hawaii) and six countries. Lowell loved to stay active gardening, building model ships, spending time with his dogs and cat. Although nothing beat spending time with family and friends celebrating or just gathering for dinner. Except maybe NASCAR, he "loved" NASCAR! His wife frequently watched their great grandchildren, he loved watching them play and grow. But mostly he loved their hugs and anytime they looked his way. Lowell loved all his family, and he was proud of each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for the accomplishments and achievements they have made as well as those they are working towards. Anyone who was privileged to witness the look on his face when he received a hug, kiss, or a handshake from any one of them…would never question the love he had for his family. Lowell was proceeded into Heaven by his parents and his brothers, Howard and Dale, stepdaughter Jamie and grandson Ora. He is survived by his wife, sister-in-law, Norma; his children Brenda (Tony), Audrey, and stepson Gene (Brenda). Lowell was blessed to have nine grandchildren, Brittany, Alyssa, Robyn, Hannah, Brooke, Kennedy, Rhett, and Robert as well as five great grandchildren, Jackson, Aria, Parker, Emma, and Hunter. Lowell gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at Grace Point Church on November 10, 2019. Lowell's verse given to him that day was from the Book of Hebrews, "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endure the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of God. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."
