Obituary of Michael John Powaser

Dr. Michael J. Powaser, an avid disciple of Jesus Christ and local Chiropractor, entered into his eternal home on Saturday, September 4th, 2021 at the age of 64 in Lodi, CA. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie, and his three children, Whitney, Nick, and Alex. Michael was born on November 24th, 1956 at Lodi Memorial Hospital to John and Eileen Powaser. He graduated from Tokay High School in 1975 and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College in 1987. As the third generation in his family to be born and raised in Lodi, he became a pillar in the local community as a doctor, mentor, and spiritual leader. To others, he was known as a son, brother, husband, father, dear friend, and the person to invite if you needed a signature dish for any gathering. He was always happy to have a conversation with those that wanted to listen and brought a smile to every person he encountered. Most of all, he was a man of great faith. He eagerly awaited to be united with his Heavenly Father and to see the coming of his Savior. While he was taken from us too soon, we know that he is in the loving arms of his Creator and is busy preparing a home for his family for when they get to be reunited with him. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, September 18th, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Peter’s Lutheran School Scholarship Fund as Dr. Mike was an advocate for education and for teaching children about the Christian faith in order to raise the next generation of faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
