Obituary of Louis Eugene Katz

Louis Eugene Katz passed away on August 8, 2021 at the age of 96 in Galt, California. Lou was the son of the late Melvin L and Stella K Katz. He spent his childhood in Chicago, and his adult years in California. He had a successful career with Higgenbotham Brothers. Lou loved his family and his country and served in the United States Marine Corps. He fought in both WWII and the Korean War. He was at The Battle of Chosin and was one of the last surviving members of the Chosin Few. Lou is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth of Galt, California. He is also survived by his brother Melvin L Katz Jr. (Barbara Smith) of Glenmont, NY, his nephew Michael L Katz (Jennifer Hobart) of San Francisco, and his niece Elizabeth Katz of Delmar, NY, along with great and great-great nieces and nephews, and his beloved canines: Rubi and Juliet. He was predeceased by his stepsons, Obie and Gary Crouch. A military funeral will be held on September 1, 2021 at 9am at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
