John Ellwood Machen, 94 of Lodi, Ca, passed away on Thursday, January 14th 2021 in Stockton, Ca. Graveside service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park on Monday January 25th, 2021 at 1230pm with Pastor Scott Plath officiating. Visitation will be held Monday January 25th from 10-1130am. Lodi Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Ellwood was born in Tokio, Texas to John and Alice Machen on August 16,1926. He married his beloved wife Esther Fromm on March 22, 1947. He was a United States veteran who served in WWII. He worked many years on a dairy farm and over 50 years as a Cement Mason. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50+ years. He really enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time in his garden. Ellwood is survived by his daughter Wanda Perry (Frank) of Farmington, Ca, son John E Machen Jr. (Sheila) of Ammon, Id, siblings Billy D Machen of Stockton, Becky Hammonds of Lodi, Mary Hayes (Vernon) of Woodbridge, and Pat Holton of Lodi, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members. He was proceeded in death by his parents John and Alice, his wife Esther, daughter Jane, sisters Donna and Baby Girl Machen, 1 great grandson, 1 great-great granddaughter, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law
