Obituary of Arthur Dean Sanders Sr.

Arthur Dean Sanders was born in Billings, Montana on June 6, 1942 to Preston & Marquette Sanders. He had 3 older brothers and 1 sister; he was the youngest member of his family. He was 78 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents Preston Sanders & Marquette Hauserman Sanders, and his brothers Jerry, Lynn and Jack Sanders. He is survived by the mother of his children Virginia Kay Sanders, his sister Levon “Sandy” Sanders, his three sons, Wiley, Dean and Bruce Sanders. Plus his grandchildren and other family members in California & Montana. He lived most of his life in Stockton , Ca where he attended Franklin High School, he graduated from Franklin in 1961. In 1966 he joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska. Upon his return in 1968 he had various jobs, and met his future wife Virigina Kay Thompon, they were married in Jan of 1971, and raised 3 sons here in Stockton. A few years after they were married, he became a bus driver for San Joaquin Regional Transit District in Stockton, Ca. He worked there for 32 years. After he retired, he became an Ambassador guide for the downtown alliance, where he enjoyed walking around town, and checking in on all the businesses, and talking with people. Art was really involved with his Church, Faith Assembly of God, he was a Royal Rangers Leader when his sons were young and he also served as a Deacon. Art had a passion for music and was part of a Christian musical singing group called the Faith Singers. His family will cherish all the memories they shared with him. There will be a service at Farmington Memorial Park which is located at 5225 S. Escalon Bellota Road, in Farmington, Ca, on Wednesday December 30th at 1:30 pm.
